San Miguel de Allende Photo Workshop
I'm excited to announce my first destination CAMERA-TALK photo workshop to be held in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico April 8 - 14, 2018. It might be cliche to describe San Miguel as a photographer's paradise but it's really true. This picturesque town sitting in Mexico's central highlands has photo opportunities at every turn. There are magnificent cathedrals, a vibrant town square, colorful cultural parades, pristine parks and cobblestone streets with a mind boggling variety of unique doors. Oh my the doors! The doors alone are worth the trip.
Early in the morning the light is clear and crisp ideal for photos as the city slowly comes alive. And the late afternoon sun allows the rich earth tone city walls to glow in vibrant colors. Down every street, along any pathway this city provides visual excitement .
San Miguel has a thriving art scene, fun shopping and a variety of excellent restaurants for dining and imbibing at the end of a busy day of photography. The town is extremely safe and clean and English is spoken at most restaurants and shops. All in all San Miguel and the surrounding area offer the perfect mix of cultural activities, photo opportunities and weather to make this destination ideal for a late winter get-a-way.
I am limiting this unique CAMERA-TALK workshop to a max of six photographers. By hosting a small group it will allow interaction and camaraderie and for me the opportunity to give individual attention to each attendee whether a true beginner or advanced amateur. Bringing a digital camera will be the only requirement.
Regarding lodging, I'm considering several options all in comfortable, private homes and all pending the total number signing up and the mix of shared rooms versus those requesting single accommodations. In order to lock in housing a commitment is needed as soon as possible from those interested. Being a popular destination for travelers from around the world the best lodging is booked early.
I'll provide much more information, a complete itinerary and a final decision on lodging at a later time but for now here are the critical details.
The workshop will begin with an introductory dinner on Sunday evening April 8th with a celebratory closing Friday night April 13th.
The fee for the workshop is $2,950 which includes double occupancy hotel accommodations for 6 nights, all breakfasts and dinners and some lunches, excursion transportation for day trips outside San Miguel and any location fees during the week.
This fee does not include transportation to and from San Miguel, laundry, gratuities, phone calls or alcoholic beverages ordered at meals.
For those requesting a single room add $480.
To grab one of the six spots and commit to the workshop a $500 deposit is required as soon as possible. The balance will be due 60 days prior to the start of the workshop.
For additional information, questions about the week and travel suggestions to and from San Miguel please give me a call so we can discuss in detail. 847/347-2509
I hope you find this workshop an wonderful opportunity to explore a truly picturesque city and return with memorable images and new photography knowledge you can use back home and on your future travels.
